Short, mostly-related thoughts about the season
Given my somewhat sparse posting rate this month, this very well may be the last post I make before Christmas. So Merry Christmas! And for those of you who celebrate Hanukkah, Belated Happy Hanukkah! And for those of you who don’t celebrate or celebrate something else entirely, Jolly [your circumstance]!
Life has been busy lately–coming in a steady stream. This full-time job thing sure is time consuming. The dog show was massive amounts of fun this year, especially as nothing disastrous happened–I even behaved myself at the wrap party! (In past years, I have woven my way back to my room at 5:30 a.m.–which makes for a very unpleasant day-after-the-wrap-party.)
We have family in town, and my shopping is basically done (I know that’s nothing to brag about on 12/23, but if you knew my history, you’d applaud). I’m looking forward to Christmas day and to the coming of the new year. I love winter, although the blustering wind has GOT to let up. It shakes the sliding doors in our bedroom until you could just about lose your mind.
The worm bin is thriving, all bundled up for the cold weather. (“The worms were all nestled snug in their beds, while visions of rotten bananas danced in their heads.”) For the record, the worms’ favorite thing to eat is not the food I give them, but the coconut bedding that came with the bin. Hmm.
Well, I need to go get ready for work and maybe sneak in another cup of coffee.
So be good and have a wonderful week, whether it includes your holiday or not. Remember… Santa Winston is watching you!

- The wormpocalypse has begun.
- I’ll be quick: hilarity.

Joy to you, Katie!! I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas filled with surprises and beauty.
Aw, I’ve missed you…both. Happy Christmas and a very Merry New Year! oxx
Thanks, Christy and Larramie! Merry Christmas to you, too!
Merry Christmas, Katie!
(I haven’t been around here for too long. I had no idea you were doing worms — cool! I had a vigorous bunch of worms back in Scotland, in our compost heap…sigh…)
i’m always good, santa winston!
lol
merry christmas to you and yours, katie
Oh my, Winston. You are so dapper in your Santa hat.
Best wishes, and health to you and yours this Christmas season, Katie! And Happy New Year, too.
Yes, I too love winter, but it’s an entirely different winter. You may or may not have heard that last week where we live, in Edmonton, Alberta, it was the coldest spot in North America for a night. – 46 C if you can grasp that – without the windchill. Why do I live here again?…
Oh yeah, as if my days as a stay-at-home-dad/ aspiring author weren’t busy enough, we’re expecting our fourth next year. Pray for me…
That Santa looks like he means business! I hope he doesn’t know about all the times I was mean to Hans this year!
Happy Holidays!!
